FAQ and claims
Q: Are you blocking LosslessCut in Israel or X country?
A: I have not blocked the app to anyone. I just want to try to make a change.
Q: There is no genocide in Gaza.
A: The International Court of Justice has ruled that a plausible case for genocide exists against Israel, and UN experts, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch have documented mass civilian killings, starvation, and destruction consistent with genocidal acts and intent. 14 countries believe it is a genocide, including South Africa and China. There is plenty of evidence of Israeli leaders showing genocidal intent. Whether termed genocide or mass atrocity, the scale of civilian harm is undeniable and the matter needs attention.
Q: The IAGS is a fake organization where anybody can become a member to vote!
A: The IAGS (International Association of Genocide Scholars) is a reputable organization of scholars who study genocides. Their members include respected academics and experts in the field. The IAGS has a rigorous peer-review process for its resolutions. While it is true that anyone can join and pay the membership fee, it does not mean that majority of members are trying to manipulate the votes. See also Reactions to IAGS Resolution.
Q: But Hamas has killed civilians too and is bragging about it, look at this video!
A: Hamas killing civilians does not justify Israel killing civilians. Two wrongs do not make a right. The scale and intent of Israeli actions far exceed those of Hamas.
Q: But what about October 7?!
A: The atrocities of the October 7 massacre were a violent expression of long-standing Palestinian grievances over occupation and blockade, combined with Hamas's political and strategic aims amid a collapsed peace process and shifting regional dynamics. Those who object to Israel's actions are not justifying terrorism. October 7 was not caused by Hamas alone, but also by governments that have repeatedly disregarded opportunities for peace. Netanyahu, who once held the potential for reconciliation in his hands, chose confrontation instead. His policies of fear and suppression toward Palestinians must also be held to account.
Q: Only 60k of 2.2M has been killed in gaza. That is less than 3% so this is not a genocide!
A: Genocide is about intent and actions to destroy a group, not just numbers.
Q: Israel is providing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
A: Israel tightly controls Gaza's borders and has repeatedly blocked or restricted food, fuel, and medicine deliveries, causing UN agencies to warn of famine. Occasional aid convoys or airdrops cannot offset a siege that intentionally deprives civilians of essentials.
Q: But Muslims live freely in Israel, even serving on the Israeli Supreme Court!
A: The existence of Muslim citizens exercising rights in Israel does not erase the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza nor justify actions that collectively punish and deprive civilians of food, water, shelter and medical care. The word Muslim and Palestinian does not mean the same thing.
Q: Hamas hides behind civilians and uses them as human shields
A: Hamas does not control the airspace. They cannot set up operations in an open field. They have to hide to survive - there is a severe power imbalance between Israel and Gaza. International law prohibits indiscriminate or disproportionate attacks even when combatants are near civilians. Overwhelming evidence shows Israel has repeatedly bombed homes, hospitals, and refugee camps far beyond legitimate military targets, amounting to collective punishment rather than self-defense.
Q: But Israel has the most moral army in the world. They would never harm civilians!
A: more than 80% of buildings in Gaza have been bombed. The IDF has repeatedly bombed homes, hospitals, and refugee camps far beyond legitimate military targets, amounting to collective punishment rather than self-defense. Numerous investigations by UN bodies, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and other human rights organizations have documented war crimes and violations of international humanitarian law.
Q: Why do you say Hamas is innocent?
A: I do not say Hamas is innocent. Hamas is a militant group that has committed many atrocities and they have not always wanted the best for Palestinian people.
Q: Why do you support Hamas? Palestinians voted for Hamas!
A: I do not support Hamas. I support Palestinian human rights and oppose collective punishment of civilians. The fact that many Palestinians voted for Hamas does not justify their extermination or suffering.
Q: You are antisemite!
A: I have nothing against jewish people. In fact there are many jews (also Israeli) who oppose the Israeli apartheid and the Gaza Genocide, and I highly respect those people for speaking out. We must be able to distinguish between Jews and Zionist settlers.
Q: You are spreading one-sided propaganda. Why are you doing this?
A: I believe there is already a strong bias in traditional media with one-sided coverage, because of Israel's strong influence in leadership of the western world. I hope to shed some light from a different angle, in order to draw attention to mass civilian suffering and urge accountability. There is no purpose for me to re-iterate the mainstream media's narrative. If I can make just a little change, then it's worth it.
Q: Why are you not talking about the Uyghur genocide, Darfur genocide, etc.?
A: This is whataboutism. I do not have the resources to cover every problem in the world. I chose to focus on certain conflicts where I believe I can make a difference. If you want to help with other conflicts, please do so.
Q: STFU about Palestine and politics. Just write your software.
A: I give away this software for free, and I can choose to support whoever I want to. Feel free to take the source code and change it to remove the banner, or stop using my software in protest.
Q: Thank you for speaking out for the suppressed Palestinian people.
A: Thank you for the reassurance! Compared to all the brave protestors, health/aid workers, Global Somud Flotilla volunteers and countless others putting their lives on the line for the greater good, I haven't really sacrificed much. But as long as I can make a tiny difference, I want to at least do something.
